Cuban Master Percussionist Mongo Santamaria visits San Diego, CA. Mongo had a tremendous influence on me for many years since my time in Philadelphia back in 1968. I first saw him at the Showboat club. I later met him in Los Angeles at the Century Plaza (Hollywood & Vine) in 1970. I appreciate the wisdom he provided me in Afro-Cuban percussion during that time.
